As we look forward with excitement to the summer holidays,
Bless, loving God, those whose lives are full of stress and sorrow.
As we rejoice in our planned activities,
Bless, loving God, those who must keep working to provide.
As we find time for rest and refreshment,
Bless, loving God, those who are caring for others and have little time to rest.
As we delight in visiting places and people on our holidays,
Bless, loving God, those who are unable to go away.
As we enjoy ice-lollies and BBQ’s this summer,
Bless, loving God, those who will go hungry.
As we find adventure in activities both fun and challenging,
Bless, loving God, those who face barriers to living their lives fully.
As we find refreshment from routines and daily rituals,
Bless, loving God, those who struggle with change.
As we explore Your beautiful creation,
Bless, loving God, those impacted by the climate crisis.
As we spend time with our families and friends,
Bless, loving God, those who feel alone and isolated.
Loving Lord, help us all to enjoy the blessings of summertime,
Help us to walk with You in whatever we do and wherever we go.
Amen.
