Update 20 September 2017 I’ve always said that Lauren and her fabulous band are a class act.  Laurel Canyon, however, have gone one step further and have labelled them world class in a review of Lauren’s new album ‘The Beauty Of This Life’. Don’t say I don’t bring quality acts to Billericay.  You can read the album review here https://www.laurelcanyonuk.com/sep-17-the-beauty-of-this-life-lauren-housley/

I’m delighted to welcome back Lauren Housley, and the Chorlton Country Club, to Saint Mary’s in Billericay High Street for an evening of Country Club favourites and Lauren Housley originals. Those of you who saw Lauren and her fabulous band last year will know they have an outstanding live set – this was one of my favourite gigs of 2016 and I can guarantee that we’re in for a very special night on Friday 13 October 2017.

Lauren is a native of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, but is now based in Manchester. She draws her influence from a wide range of music genres, with her emotive vocals steeped in Gospel, Blues and a unique blend of ‘Nashville’ flavoured soul with a hint of Americana and Roots, Pop and Rock and some killer covers thrown in for good measure.  It’s a very potent and thrilling mix. If this video of a classic cover doesn’t grab you – nothing will!

Lauren Housley’s brand of Americana blurs the lines between rock and soul through to country and blues. Her music is genre defying, and will appeal to all. National Blues Review

Lauren’s debut album ‘Sweet Surrender’ was one of my standout albums of 2015, filled with some brilliant original songs, written alongside long time creative partner Thomas Dibb, that are honest, sincere and personal. A number of tracks play listed on Radio 2 by the likes of Chris Evans, Jeremy Vine and Bob Harris.

This national exposure was to bring her to the attention of the promoters at Live Nation. Lauren explains:

An out of the blue phone call and I was booked to play at Bluesfest 2016 at the 02 Arena, along with Van Morrison, Tom Jones and Dave Matthews Band. The irony of this was that I was trying to buy tickets to Bluesfest before the phone call.

Most of last year was given over to recording ‘The Beauty of this Life’, which was released on 28 July 2017 (digital formats) and the 11 August 2017 (physical format). The album features the best of her limited edition album, and 6 new tracks, which will appear on her own imprint TLC Recordings, through Absolute.
