Those of you who attend my gigs will know that my friends at Billericay Brewery  provide the bar – either in person or through providing casks and bottles – and well received their beers are too. This weekend they have their Spring Beer Festival and it’s well worth a visit!

The festival starts at 1pm on Thursday 22nd, then 11am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They have a later licence on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, serving until 10:30pm and Sunday until 7pm.

If you’ve not been to one of their festivals before, you will have the chance to drink up to 20 different beers from 2 different bars, one in the micropub and one in the brewery itself. They feature our regular beers, the return of some more favourites such as Billericay Bees and Raisins to be Cheerful plus a few festival specials, including Beast from The East, a special ale brewed during the recent cold spell.  I can also thoroughly recommend the Barista Porter. Delicious!

In addition they also feature beers from 3 new Essex breweries – Keppels, Leigh on Sea and Watsons. They will also feature perries and ciders from Essex cidery Berties plus Essex wines and Prosecco will be available as normal. You can view a full list here
