My friend Chris Hobart, and his family, are organising, what promises to be, a fantastic Fun-Day Festival to raise funds for MIND and ‘Reach Out for Mental Health.’ The family write:
This event is being organised in memory of Richard Hobart, aged 27, who sadly took his own life after suffering with mental health problems. The aim is to support MIND and a new organisation called ‘Reach Out for Mental Health’ who offer support to people who feel suicidal.
Richard was a very kind and loving person, extremely fit and hard working. He was engaged to be married and very close to completing the purchase of his first home with his fiancé Katrina. After sustaining a nasty back injury at the gym, Richard was prescribed Diazepam. Very soon after his mental health declined and, despite repeated visits to the GP’s, and love and support from family and friends it all became too much for him to bear.
This event takes place on Sunday 2 June at Basildon Sports & Leisure Club, Gardiners Lane South, SS14 3AP, from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm, there will be a mixture of:
LIVE MUSIC / FIRE WALK / FAIRGROUND RIDES / STALLS / FOOD AND DRINKS / FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY.
