Nobody should be alone at Christmas. Whether you’re a family or someone who could do with somewhere to be on Christmas Day – we welcome anyone who would like to join us for a meal on Christmas Day.
The invitation, on behalf of Churches Together in Billericay, is open to anyone who would like some good company and good food. Nobody should be left out.
Some Questions Answered:
Who is it open to? Anyone – typically guests are older members of the Billericay area – but it’s open to anyone including families and couples.
Is it only for people in the church? It is hosted by Emmanuel overseen by local Christians who want to spread some love and good company, but the majority of volunteers are from outside the church and the event is open to all – all are welcome.
Do you charge? The meal is not charged for, donations are welcomed.
What do you do? We offer guests lifts, serve a 3-course meal, have a little quiz and plan to watch the King’s speech.
If anyone wants to donate to support it what should they do? The finances are run by ‘Churches Together in Billericay’ – cheques and bank transfers can be sent to them. Contact 07518 444798 for details.
What is the deadline? Anyone wishing to RSVP should do so ASAP on 07518 444798. The deadline is 18th December.
What area do you cover? If anyone requires a lift then they’re welcome to join us within 5 miles of Billericay Train Station.
Who is financing it? Donations are being received from across the community and include Churches Together, a local running club and The Reading Rooms. Donations of food are being received from Waitrose and Cook. The event requires more funding so donations of all sizes are very welcome.
How many people can you cook for? We plan to provide meals to 100 people.
