We are delighted to welcome Robert Vincent for our ‘Gig in the Garden’’.  Robert is a Liverpool based blues and country music singer-songwriter. Born into a house that rang to the sounds of Johnny Cash, The Beatles and Pink Floyd, Rob knew before he was five years old that he wanted to be a musician. He’s seen setbacks and false dawns, he’s come near to success only to have it snatched away, but he’s never lost his faith in his music. And now that faith is coming good.

Described by Andrew Harrison (editor of Q Magazine) as: “The Mersey Van Morrison or scouse Springsteen.” Robert draws his influence from a range of music genres including Americana, 70’s Rock and Country music  as well as his Merseyside roots.

His debut album ‘Life In Easy Steps’: contains a set of songs that are     compassionate and perceptive, held together by a voice that can soothe, comfort and challenge.  Rob says: “There’s no smoke and mirrors about it. It’s like a good old fashioned country record. Sing what you mean – and sing it like you mean it.”

I first heard Robert earlier this year when he was supporting Paul Carrack on his national tour at the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend and was blown away by his music, his searingly honest lyrics and warm stage presence.

Vincent’s voice is passionate, but with subtlety and melodic poise, and is wholly convincing in his role as the love beaten troubadour with a ray of hope in his heart.  Americana UK Magazine
