Unfortunately, there will be no weekend ‘shoebox extravaganza!’ this year, nor will we be collecting items for shoeboxes as we have done in previous years – due to a lack of volunteers concerned about COVID.

This is a great disappointment to so many of us. However, there is still an opportunity for you to pack a shoebox online. The cost is £20 including postage. More details can be found here https://shoeboxonline.samaritans-purse.org.uk/

Just pleased it’s still happening, one way or another … very straightforward to do!

Shoeboxes collected in the UK  this year are anticipated to be sent to children in need in Albania, Belarus, Central Asia, Liberia and Nigeria.

If you would like to make a financial donation to OCC without filling a shoebox, put these in an envelope when you come to church marked OCC and we’ll ensure these monies are forwarded.

Operation Christmas Child contacted me to say:

We’ve so enjoyed watching your updates over the years. We look forward to seeing them again in the future. Thanks again for partnering with us so faithfully.

Thank you for your amazing support each year Paul and for encouraging people to pack online this year.

The nearest warehouse to us is in Tonbridge. However, if there is a reasonable amount of knitted (or other) items around they will arrange for these to be picked up! Christ church in Perry Street are collecting showboxes and you can drop these off anytime before 21 November 2021.

THE GREATEST JOURNEY This is an exciting way for kids to explore the Bible! Aboard a time-travelling spaceship that players captain, the Greatest Journey gives kids a bird’s-eye view of the Old and New Testaments, introducing them to major events in the Bible and focusing on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It is produced by Operation Christmas Child.
