As things stand, there will be an Act of Remembrance taking place at the Billericay War Memorial on Sunday 14 November 2021. There is, currently, no restriction on the numbers of people who can gather – though those on Parade will do their best to ensure social distancing. Please can we ask that you respect those who may wish to have a little more space to themselves – not always possible with over 2,000 people in attendance. With that in mind, I’m hoping to arrange a livestream to the Billericay Discussion Facebook Page to ensure those who may be self-isolating, and those who may not want to be part of a large crowd, can join in. There will be an Act of Worship at Emmanuel at 9.15 am (lasting 40 mins) when members of the Army Cadet Force and Royal Air Force Air Cadets join with us. This year Paul will be talking about the 100th Anniversary of the Dedication of Billericay War Memorial. May I encourage you, even if you are not a regular church attendee, to make a special effort to join with us on this most poignant of days? This service will be livestreamed to our YouTube page.
The Act of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial in the Hif=gh Street at 10.50 am, when we gather with the Royal British Legion, members of the Armed Forces and Associations, Civic and Community Groups, Churches and Service Organisations, Businesses, Schools and Members of the Public. A Prayer for Remembrance Sunday
Ever-living God, we remember those whom you have gathered from the storm of war into the peace of your presence; may that same peace calm our fears, bring justice to all peoples and establish harmony among the nations, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Service sheets will be distributed on the High Street by the Street Pastors on Sunday 14 November. However, you can download a service sheet for the War Memorial here Remembrance Sunday – War Memorial – 2021
